Terms & Conditions

These terms are an agreement between you and Cookie Lab Notebook (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the app at cookielabnotebook.com, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.

1. What Cookie Lab Notebook is

Cookie Lab Notebook is a digital baking journal that lets you save recipes, log your bakes, compare experiments, and see simple insights. It’s a tool to help you bake better cookies — nothing more serious than that.

2. Your account

• You must provide accurate information when you sign up.
• You’re responsible for keeping your password safe and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access.
• You should be old enough to form a binding agreement where you live (generally at least 13, or 16 in some regions).

3. Your content

Your recipes, bake logs, photos, and notes are yours. You keep ownership of everything you create. To run the app, you give us permission to store, display, and back up that content solely so we can provide the service to you.

You agree not to upload content that:

• infringes someone else’s copyright or other rights;
• is unlawful, harmful, hateful, or abusive; or
• contains malware or attempts to break or misuse the app.

You’re responsible for your content and for keeping your own copies of anything important to you.

4. Acceptable use

Please don’t:

• use the app to break the law or infringe others’ rights;
• try to access other users’ data, disrupt the service, or bypass security;
• scrape, resell, or copy the app or its underlying software.

5. Subscriptions and payments

Cookie Lab Notebook offers a free plan and a paid Pro plan. The free plan lets you save a limited number of recipes at no cost. Pro unlocks unlimited recipes and bake logs, photo galleries, the Compare tool, and Insights.

• Pro is billed $4.99 per month in advance through our payment processor, Stripe, plus any tax that applies where you live. By subscribing you authorize that charge to repeat each month until you cancel. We’ll always show the price clearly before you subscribe.
• If we change the price, we’ll let you know in advance, and any change will only apply to future billing periods.

6. Cancelling

• You can cancel at any timefrom your account’s billing settings — no email required, and no reason needed.
• Cancelling takes effect at the end of the billing period you’ve already paid for. You keep Pro until then, and you won’t be charged again.
• Deleting your account is different:it cancels your subscription straight away and Pro access ends immediately, because the account and its content are gone. If you want to use the rest of a period you’ve paid for, cancel first and delete later.
• When Pro ends, your recipes and bake logs stay in your account. Features limited to Pro simply stop being available, and free-plan limits apply again.

7. Refunds

• 30-day money-back guarantee for new subscribers.If Pro isn’t for you, email us within 30 days of your first Pro paymentand we’ll refund it in full. No explanation needed. The refund goes back to the card you paid with, through Stripe.
• After those first 30 days, payments are non-refundableand cancelling doesn’t refund the period you’re currently in — though you’re welcome to ask, and we’ll look at it case by case. Because cancelling stops the next charge, you’re only ever paid up for the month you’re in.
• If you’re within the 30-day window, ask for the refund beforedeleting your account — once it’s deleted we can’t look up your payment.
• None of this affects any refund or cancellation right the law gives you where you live. Where those rights apply, they come first.

8. Our intellectual property

The app itself — its name, design, and software — belongs to us. These terms don’t give you any rights to it beyond using the app as intended.

9. Availability & “as is”

We work to keep the app running, but we can’t promise it will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free. The app is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Please keep your own backups of content that matters to you.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent allowed by law, we won’t be liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data or profits, arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law.

11. Ending your use

You can delete your account at any time from your account page. Doing so removes your recipes, bake logs and photos, and cancels any Pro membership immediately — see sections 6 and 7 for what that means for the period you’ve paid for and for refunds. You can download a copy of everything first from the same page. You can also email us at cookielabnotebook@gmail.comif you’d rather we did it. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or misuse the service.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we’ll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use the app after changes means you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes will be handled by the state or federal courts located in Florida.
